パゴダを手に入れてから５回目のユーザー車検となりました。昨年末に排気管のレストアを行ない、気がかりな箇所はないので気楽に車検検査場へ向かったのですが。毎回何かしかトラブルが発生しますね！It is a time for the 5th “User Shaken”, a biyearly compulsory vehicle inspection conducted by the owner since I have got Pagoda 280SL. Now that the exhaust pipe restoration is carried out at the end of last year, I am heading for the inspection without concerns. I presume that it should be an easy inspection. However, something happens every time!

クリスマスにかけての降雪の影響で年末恒例のツーリングに出かける機会を逸しました。中止とします。代わりに、年の瀬にExhaustの溶接でお世話になった整備工場で出会った旧車達をご紹介致します。では参りましょう！The year-end touring is canceled. 昨年の車検時マフラーの排ガス漏れを指摘され、パテで応急処置を施しそれで完治したと思っていた。眼が復活して久しぶりにドライブに出ると、微妙に排気音が異なる。エンジンの振動もあり何時もとの違和感を覚える。帰宅早々潜ってみると、パテが剥がれて排気が漏れている。パテ修理は気の利いたものでなく一時しのぎなことを改めて認識する。腰を据えて修理する必要がありそうだ。At the compulsory vehicle inspection last year, the gas leak from the exhaust pipe was pointed out. I thought that the leakage was completely secured by the first aid with putty. When my eyes revived and I went out for a drive in a while, I feel that the exhaust sound is slightly different as well as the vibration from the engine. I am uncomfortable for my Pagoda. GodzillaのConsult Scan Toolの開発が一段落したので次の懸案事項に移る。Nexus9の断捨離の為に、以前開発したAndroidソフト”Versatile Dashboard Interface”の移植を開始する。移植先はLenovo Tab4 8Plusとこれも余り使っていないTabletである。Since the development of the Godzilla’s Consult Scan Tool is concluded, I shall commence to transfer the Inhouse Android software “Versatile Dashboard Interface” developed for Nexus9 in past to another device. Nexu9 tablet is currently under the disposal process. The transferee is the Lenovo Tab4 8 Plus Tablet which I have not used much as well.

隣町のチューニングショップへルンルン気分でパワーチェックに向かう途中、突如エンジの調子がおかしくなる。ノッキングのような異音が出てブルブルと振動する。トラブル発生だがそのまま走行していると症状も落ち着く。何だろうと思っている内にショップに到着。エンジン編Tier 2をお届けします。さて、本日は我家にとって記念すべき日になりました😀 On the way to a tuning car shop in the neighboring city for the power check, the engine commences to make vibration together with a nasty noise like knocking. A trouble has occurred. Continuing to drive, the symptom is going down. Godzilla arrives at the shop while wondering what it is. Let me address on Tier 2 related to the engine. BTW today it is an utmost festive day for our family.

ガレージから出て切り返すとギアが”R”にスムースに入らない。”4″に切り替えるがシフトはガタつき定位置とずれる。ハッと気づいてエンジンを止め車体下に潜る。案の定、オートマのAT側のブッシュが脱落している。出かけるのを急遽取り止め再度切り返してガレージに戻る。トラブルは突如やってくると云うが、運の良い？タイミングで定番のオートマのブッシュ脱落トラブルに遭遇。Getting out of the garage and turning back, the shift does not easily place in “R”. I manage to change it to “4” and find that the shift is rattling away from the right position. As soon as realizing the situation, I stop the engine and dive under the car. The AT bushing has surly gone as expected. I give up to drive and returned to the garage. While it is said that troubles come suddenly, I would be lucky…

10年以上前、初のパゴダのユーザー車検の予備検査でスピードメーターが時速43kmと高めに表示された事で、ユーザー車検の速度検査でその正確な車速43kmに固執し過ぎて二度失敗し三回目に何とかパスした経緯がある。それ以来速度検査が最も苦手な項目である。しかし、昨年福井のテスター屋での貴重な情報を得て以来、苦手意識はなくなったような。スピードメーターの精度に関わるエピソードをご紹介しましょう。More than 10 years ago, I learn that the speedometer indicates as high as 43km/h in the preliminary car inspection ahead of my first “User Shaken” of Pagoda.
